*FAN FICTION CONTEST*

If you’ve fallen in love with any of the characters from Growing Up Little, No Worries, The Devil’s Candy, or Dusty Rose, and wish that you could be a part of their lives, now is your chance!

WHAT IS FAN FICTION???

Fan Fiction is a work of fiction that is written by a fan.
Fan Fiction writers borrow the characters from their favorite books and use them to create new stories.

In this case, you are to use characters from either Growing Up Little, or any of the McCassey books.

They can be main characters, or some of the supporting characters.

Do you wish you were Jake’s little sister? How about his wife, girlfriend, or best friend? Maybe he shouldn’t have a sister at all…maybe you think he should have a brother…Use his character and write a new story!

Ever wish you were a part of the McCassey clan?

Want to have an affair with Rebel, Blackie, or Judd? Maybe you think they should be married to someone else…or not at all.

Do you want to be the only girl in a family full of guys? Have them rescue you?

Maybe you’d like to be one of their bad ass cousins.

Do you have an idea for more trouble they could get into?

Or perhaps your favorite character is one of the cousins whose book hasn’t been written.

You’re the writer, you’re the creator!

Either follow the stories I’ve written, or pluck your favorite character—or characters—out of my story and create one of your own!

Maybe there was something you would’ve liked to have seen happen in one of the books, but it didn’t.

Now is your chance to use my characters and write your perfect story!

OFFICIAL RULES

- The contest will run from now until June 30, 2008.

-You don’t need to be a professional writer or have any training to participate. This is just a chance for you to get creative, have a little fun, and write a story!

-Remember, you don’t have to follow the story that I wrote. All you have to use a character—or characters—that I created.

-Stories can be told in the first or third person.

-Don’t worry, you don’t have to use your real name.

If you’re shy and don’t want anyone to know that you wrote the story, you may create a pen name. You don’t even have to give me your real name…just make sure you have a valid email address where I can get in touch with you in case you are one of the winners.

-There is no minimum or maximum page limit.

-Bad language is fine…(does anyone have a more foul mouth than Blackie McCassey???)

-It does NOT have to be a romantic story, but you may include as much or as little sex as you’d like. If you love to write erotic love scenes, feel free to make them as graphic as you’d like…nothing surprises or offends me…I’ve read everything!

-Your story will only be judged by me…and WILL BE JUDGED ON THE STORY ALONE. That means you will NOT be penalized for grammar or formatting mistakes. However, please be kind enough to run your work through the spell checker!

-If your story is less than 50 pages, please send it to me in the body of an email at: LaurenSharman@gmail.com

If it is more than 50 pages, you may send it as an attachment.

PRIZES

The winner will receive one autographed hardcopy of The Long Road Home (The Final McCassey Book), a certificate, and their story will be put on my web site, message board, and in my MySpace blog for the entire month of July!

The 2^nd place winner will receive a certificate, and their story will be on my web site, message board, and MySpace blog for the month of August.

The 3^rd place winner will also receive a certificate, and their story will be put up for the month of September.

**If you are one of the winners and do not want your story posted for everyone else to read, please just let me know. I understand that not everyone feels comfortable sharing their work with others**
